About CharityMash

Digital communications is a powerful force to inspire and mobilize people into action, so we set-up CharityMash to be a shared resource specifically to help & inform charities. It was borne out of a bunch of professionals feeding interesting and enlightening links and images from the charity and social media sector into shared del.icio.us , tumblr  and friendfeed accounts. We realised that this offered a great snapshot of what was happening in our sector and that this central goal to share information, opinion and insight into all aspects of digital communications from social media to search engine marketing and everything in between could be rather useful to other people too.

We would be fibbing if we didn’t admit that digital communications is what our founders do (which of course subsidises projects like this) but if we’re honest, we spend so much time looking at and coveting other folks work – we figured this would be a more productive way of channelling our envy and admiration.

We all know that digital communication is a huge area and just as relevant to a voluntary community group as it is to a multi-national NGO. It can be as simple as an email campaign or as complex as a fully formed integrated digital strategy. Our hope is that the shared knowledge-base and experiences of others will help all charities make better informed decisions and more effective use of their budgets. This is of course especially important in our current economic mêlée.

We would love you to join in the debates, comment on the articles offer case studies that you think deserve highlighting (big or small) and please do get in touch if you’d like to become one of our authors.
